The Big Bad Wolf (Pack)

In Yellowstone National Park dwells the big bad wolf. This is not the big bad wolf, but the Canyon Wolf Pack of five big bad wolves. Shot near the Grand Canyon the the Yellowstone.
I should add that this is a highly unusual occurance for such an elusive animal.

I grew up in Alaska and when I was a kid we had a wolf as a family pet (well, she was 75% wolf and 25% husky). She was the BEST dog; very protective, very affectionate and extremely intelligent. The lead wolf in your photo reminds me of her. I now live in Montana and I'm outraged at all the wolf kills. They are not bad, they're just survivors. Like all of us.
You're right - that is funny that we were both at Yellowstone on the same day, I hadn't noticed. The weather was just lovely, wasn't it? :)
